Fifth Review Conference (5RC) of the Convention on the Prohibition of the Use, Stockpiling, Production and Transfer of Antipersonnel Mines and on Their Destruction, also known as the Ottawa Convention will be held from November 25-29, 2024 in Siem Reap, Cambodia.
Cambodia named this conference “The Siem Reap-Angkor Summit on a Mine-Free Word”. The purpose of the Summit is to:
- review the operation and status of the Convention;
- consider the need for and the interval between further Meetings of the States Parties;
- take decisions on submissions of States Parties as provided for in Article 5; and
- adopt, if necessary, conclusions related to the implementation of the Convention.
The Siem Reap-Angkor Summit on a Mine-Free World will adopt three key substantive documents:
1. A Review document on the status of the implementation of the Convention
2. The Siem Reap-Angkor Action Plan 2025 – 2029
3. The Siem Reap-Angkor Political Declaration
